THE BASMAN CLASSIC FRAME
One of the most known and recognizable cruiser frame worldwide, the first sketches of the Basman were created in early 2004. The vision was to design a low profile frame that combines looks and comfort, and is also suitable for larger riders, as the designer himself is 1,90m tall. It immediately garnered attention in the scene as it unexpectedly won the „Cruiser of the year“ award in Amsterdam later that year, leaving well-known custom builders behind.
Characteristic of a PROJECT 346 design is the placement of the crank in the belly of the frame. The inspiration for this position of the motor comes from the old board track racers. Instead of using the motor to go forward, the human body becomes the engine.
RUFF CYCLES bought the brand Project 346 in 2016 from Chopperdome and continued to manufacture the Basman frame which they already exclusively produced since early 2015.

We are proud to have our own frame manufacturing facilities. This enables us to be much more flexible and close to our products then others who buy from 3rd party factories.
As one of the few bicycle frame makers in Europe, we place great importance on the quality of the frames as well as having a safe and professional working environment for our staff.
Everything is done in-house, as our crew counts engineers and welders amongst others.
